A Week in Orlando- Sunday

A couple of weeks ago I decided it would be fun to go to Orlando as a family.  I read on the internet that July 4th and the surrounding week was the busiest day of the year at Disney World and as a result- other places were more or less a ghost town.  That was pretty much true and we found some amazing things to do that we wouldn't have otherwise done if we had spent all of our time at Disney.

We arrived on Saturday and got all settled in at the resort.  I looked up the nearest LDS church and time on LDS.org so the next day it was off to church.  We plugged the address into the GPS and off we went.  Just as we were coming over a hill there was a giant white building across the street from the chapel we would be going to.  Our first thought was, "Wow, what an amazing building!"  as we got closer we recognized it as an LDS temple and then recognized Moroni on the top.  It was beautiful and comforting to see such a familiar sight so far from home.  The sacrament we attended was their first sunday after a ward split.  It was great because nobody knew we were visiting.  They all just thought we were from the other ward if they thought anything at all.  Many of them seemed consumed with the ward business and changes that were taking place.  It was fun to watch from the outside all of the goings on and know exactly what they were going through after umpteen ward splits of our own.  Halfway during sacrament Brooke looked down the bench at me and yelled, "Mom, what time are we going swimming today?"  Ahhhh Brooke, "SHHHHH".

After church we went for a walk along the temple grounds.  Terrence shared with the kids a message about the importance of the temple and the path that leads us there.  We talked about how wonderful it will be to all be there together one day and let them know how excited we are for that day and to make it a family goal to always be on the temple path.
