They were always putting us on a chartered plane, bus, or train as we traveled across Sweden and Norway. I never knew where we were going to end up, but Elizabeth who was in charge of the whole tour was extremely organized and everything was always on time. It always ran very smoothly and with no stress. They are a lovely, kind and seem to be easy going yet efficient people.
This is part of the group we traveled with for several days. Many of them were investors and research analysts for banks. We stopped in this red building for a wonderful lunch of roast beef and potatoes served by some local older women who really knew how to cook!
They had a Northland flag flying outside the facility because they are one of their main patrons.
They gave us a quick overview of the project after lunch.
This is the impressive facility in Pajala. Wow! Only around 6,000 people live in the town. They are creating a giant facility to maintain several jobs and bring many people back to the small town where most everyone had moved away.
It was very wooded with many pines and birch.
This was my fashion apparel most of the time while traveling with this crew!
This is the mine where they extract the iron ore.
This is Terrence with Karl-Axel (I wanted to call him Karl, but Terrence said his name and what he goes by is Karl-Axel) I guess when you're that big, you need two names.
The biggest conveyer belt I've ever seen!
I'm going to get a pair of these babies for home. Aren't they sweet!
The underground loading facility for the trucks.
After the tour there was another presentation to the investors and a very nice dinner. They served smoked reindeer which was disgusting and fish which was good. Terrence and I sat across from a Fin that we shared a bit about the gospel with. I hope the missionaries find him as he seemed quite interested. He kept saying he wasn't, then he would ask another question! The meal was 3 hours long. We were the only American's there with dozens of Swedes and a few Fins.
Just about everywhere looked like Ikea!
This is our beautiful view from our hotel room.
Packing up and leaving for the next destination... Kiruna.
