Viva Las Vegas!

Terrence and I had a great get away to Vegas.

Boys Day...

We went to the Caterpillar Show.

(WARNING: May be high doses of yellow, men in beards (some women), and baseball caps!!!!)

Girls Day...

(WARNING:  Lots of scenery, food, and other fluff)

We stayed at the Venetian (I loved all the replicas of Venice aka above- the Rialto Bridge)
(aka- the Vatican Museum)
One of my favorite places to grab something quick in Vegas is La Creperie at The Paris.
Oh Yummmm...
No trip to Vegas is complete without seeing the eye candy The Bellagio has created for each season-

We stopped by an empty pool at Caesar's Palace (still too cold for using)
 Looked around at H&M

and went to Phantom of the Opera (one of my FAVORITES).  Phantom was amazing.  I could see it over and over.   Terrence and I have tickets to take Kinsey and Kacey to see Les Miserables in SLC next month.  Can hardly wait!!!!

The theatre was built just for Phantom and was right in the Venetian

Luncheroo

While the girls were on Spring Break from their colleges I went to lunch with them, their Grandma Savage, and Terrence.  It was quite the adventure...

Kacey, Kinsey, Linda

Typical Kacey and Kins

This is Linda being gracious as the waiters sing happy birthday to her on a day that's not really her birthday, but Terrence thought it should be so he made it so!

It's never boring!!

Our Kitchen

Our kitchen is a place of constant activity.  It's where we do homework, crafts, entertaining, and sometimes even eat!  Its a good place to be if I really want to know what's going on with my kids.  All I have to do is go to the kitchen and something will be going on.

What Would You Do?

So, I've spent most of my day sewing a quilt that I signed up to finish for the Relief Society.  I've taken way too many breaks as I've had flashes of brilliance to check out Master's Degree Programs (boring quilt).  I've been looking at School Counseling, Psych, or an Ed.D.  I finished my degree with 3 kids in tow and did a lot of it independent study and night classes, so I missed some of the classroom experience, which I LOVE, and always said I'd go back.  Sometimes I think I'm ready, but the acceptance process is soooooo painstaking... GRE Test, minimum GPA, hours of homework once you get in- for years.  What I really want to do I can't and don't need a Master's for anyway.  I'd like to teach institute but - being female a requirement from the church is that all of your kids have to be out of the house (I'm pretty attached to them and don't feel like those remaining home at 11, 14 and 16 could survive long on their own, although tempting at times).  I love education and would love to go back for the experience alone, but want it to count for something to go towards in the future.

Anyone have any experiences to share that could be helpful?

Japan Relief

What's going on in Japan has been so heart rendering.

This is a great story.  I love being a member.

This is an amazing clip too.

I especially love the "human chain" and how it represents mankind's goodness to reach out in times of need.

Joy in the Little Things

I watched this video this morning.  It reminded me to look for joy in the little things.
Each day is a gift and it's our choice if we want to unwrap the gift and see what's inside or toss it away without looking.  It reminded me that it's ok to enjoy life just because it's life and it's beautiful.  There doesn't need to be something grand or entertaining going on- no, it's much deeper.  We just need to see.
