We just spent four days in Moab for Spring Break. We packed up the trailer and big red and headed down for Easter weekend. Kacey was even able to come this time and it was a blast to be together.
The first night we arrived was going to be a full moon. We started at dusk, equipped with our headlamps and flashlights, for Delicate Arch. It was DARK! Even when we arrived at the arch it was dark. The moon wouldn't be rising for about an hour. We walked under the starlit arch and watched a mouse scurry across the red rocks. There were several people there waiting for the moon to rise.

We've seen this place before, but this time decided to stop for a closer look. It was interesting to say the least! It was definitely some of the most off the wall, way cool stuff I've seen.
This jeep was all kinds of random stuff welded together. The tires are wrenches and gears (I think).
The blue license plate next to Terrence said "Utah 65", just happened to be the year he was born.
This was some kind of electrical conductor with a chair next to it. I think my kids thought it was an electric chair.
Sam said, Finally her knight in shining armor!
One day we went on a river boat tour down the Colorado. There were some characters on this boat! Including us I'm sure. At one point the guide pulled out snacks and drinks. He announced, We have Coke, Diet Coke and Lemonade. What would you like? Sam said, I'll have Sprite. He said we have Coke, Diet Coke and Lemonade. She said, I"ll have Sprite. He then announced, We have Coke, Diet Coke and Lemonade. We still don't have Sprite. I'll bet he wished he would've brought sprite.
These were some friends we picked up along the way. The guy on the left, Terrence couldn't understand a word he said, so the guy just hung with me. I guess all those years of understanding toddlers with no teeth came in handy. So, he's slurring out his life story to me, when Conner came along and started peeling his pants off so he could wear the shorts on underneath he brought. The shorts started coming off too and as I apologized the guy slurred, "Don't bother me none. I'm a nudist". I laughed and commented that I'm way to inhibited for that and he continued to tell me about his nuddy camp experiences while he blew smoke in my kids face. I didn't know what else to do so I just said, can I take your picture? He stopped, posed, and was quite after that.
The guy on the right has owned 9 bikes and served in Iraq for 3 or 4 years. He was quite entertained by Sam and after she got over her fear of him found out he was a pretty funny guy. I'm wondering if he's going to pose like that if he should've had those tattoos applied the other way?
We got out a couple of times to explore along the river. Sam opted to stay in the boat the first time. After about 10 minutes she appeared. The tour guide said the only people left on the boat when he got off were her and the "old guy". I guess she decided we weren't so bad after all and wisely decided to join us. I was glad.
While they did enjoy the ride out and the hikes along the way, it was 4 hours long. Terrence and I enjoyed the quite while our teenagers napped on the way back!
Mesa Arch is one of my favorite places there. It's beautiful! It scares me though because my family has to climb out on top of the arch. It really is as far below as it looks. If they fell it would be like jumping out of an airplane.
One of Terrence's favorite places is Island in the Sky. The place is crazy. It's like hiking a tight rope with cliffs and caverns. It gives me a tummy ache.
I think this little venture even gave Terrence a tingle. He was all about getting back to better ground.
For some reason, while I enjoy my time at Island in the Sky, I am always relieved when we're all safely back in the car. Another Spring Break. Another great time!
